My name is John Lars Zwerenz. My middle name was given to me in honor of Lars Stene who was my grandfather. Your sister requested that I send you information regarding Lars Stene. He left Norway at the age of 16 and arrived in the United States. He was trained as a construction engineer and helped build New York City's Holland Tunnel. He passed away at the age of 72. He had three children: My mother, Carol Stene, (Now Carol Zwerenz) ; my aunt Jean Stene (Now Jean Mason) and my deceased uncle Dennis Stene Lars Stene was the first cousin of the mother of the famous American actress Marilyn Monroe who passed away in 1962. I am the first cousin of Marilyn Monroe once removed. If you require any further information in regards to my grandfather I will be glad to supply it. Lars Stene lived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York City from the age of 16 until his death in 1981 at the age of 72. He was born in 1908 in Haugesund, Norway.
